If anyone has lived in (or even visited) Texas then you know the weather can be very unpredictable here! If you don't like being cold just wait a day...it will be hot. It's been raining here off and on for about 2-3 weeks. When there is a break for the day between storms everyone is trying to mow their yards, but with all the rain the ground just isn't sucking it down like it usually does and we all end up mudding on our mowers! Here is our front yard right now!Here is our back yard!It's horrible! We can't play outside or do anything! Tom gave up on using the mower and started using the weed eater to at least knock the tall grass down right around the house.

So...everyone out there who is in another state...please start doing your rain dances again. I really want this to go away so if you do your rain dances it will leave here and come to you!!! Right?!?!?

Melanie decided to play softball this year! It's her first year and I have spent several Saturdays busing the girls between their games! Here are some great pictures I got (with my new camera lens) of her playing this past Saturday. They won their game! YIPEE!

Last week I found these beds on Craigslist and Tom was wonderful enough to drive the 2.5 hours to pick them up! We (Brandy, Tom, & I...with the P/T help of Chris) spent the last 2 days painting the boys room and heres what it looks like...

We are going for a camo/camping/hunting theme. I am going to put another green sleeping bag on Colton's bed. I think it looks nice!

Tom wasn't sure about the green, but I think it looks good...and he wasn't there to pick out another color so...lol...

Man...I thought I had posted SOMETHING in the last 3 months, but I guess I was dreaming AGAIN! Right now, with school, watching kids, and making pies I'm a little pre-occupied! It's been NUTS around here! School is keeping be busy, the kids are keeping me fit, and the pies are...well...I guess it's a good thing I don't like coconut right?!?!? LOL...

Christmas Holidays!

I haven't gotten our Christmas pictures developed yet. I am still trying to finish using the role of film in my camera so it will probably be after New Years before that happens! It's been super busy here. I have been gradually working towards getting a home daycare center opened and have been watching 1 or 2 kids to supplement our income until I get my registration completed. Mainly, I need a fence. We plan on doing that when I receive my check in mid January. Then I have to make sure the dogs get to the vet for health check-ups and Colton gets to the dr for his 2 year shots! :( I know...sounds like loads of fun doesn't it? I'll let you know how well that turns out!

Right now I am enjoying naptime and listening to country music on my tv. Shanya Twain is on right now :) I forgot how much I like her singing...

Coffee tables: to have or not to have?

First of all, the table in question resides at Mima's house. It's nice, unassuming. It looks safe enough, just like the on pictured here: Not really square, no sharp edges, but still dangerous. Lastnight, my mom and I ended up in the ER with our 3 year old Wyatt for four hours because he tripped and fell, hitting his head on the edge. Now you might think he was running around and fell. No. He had just finished helping Dad shut the front door when he turned around to walk to the kitchen with Dad. The table wasn't but 5 feet from the front door. Anyone who knows my kids, knows they are accident prone as it is! (Anyone who knows our family has seen this coffee table!)

I have posted before and after pictures for everyone (like me) who want to see the damage that was actually done. They said he cut it all the way to his skull. They could see and feel it while cleaning the wound. They put three stitches on the inside to pull it together while it heals and 12 stitches on the outside. They aren't pretty pictures, but I don't really like coffee tables anyway. They are always hurting shins and toes!

WE'VE MOVED!

Yeah, that's right! We finally did it...We bought a house. We now have a new address! After 3 months of looking and waiting for loan approval and closing we are going on our first month in our new house! I love it! Packing and moving still stinks and I now have a garage full of boxes, but it is worth it. We have more space and the kids love playing out in the back yard. I don't have to worry about them because we are out in the country!

We also had our 10 year class reunion. Not many people showed up, but that is okay, we had fun anyways. We are actually planning a more informal bar-b-que within the next 2 months which should have more of a turn out!

This is a picture of me, Jamie, and Tracy. We had a blast...during highschool...and at the reunion. It was really nice to catch up with them and find out what they have been up to in the last few years!

Well! We made it back! My first airplane trip...it was kinda scary, but a lot of fun. We didn't get to see everything we wanted to see, but that is okay. We relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. Donated our money to several casinos and shops!

Okay, here are some pictures I recently got developed. I know they aren't too old, but I found a couple of rolls of film and had no clue what was on them...I know there are several people out there who know what I am talking about!

I noticed Colton was licking his honeynut Cheerios off his walker one day and when he looked up I had to grab my camera and take a picture! This was sometime last year obviously!

Hammie the Hamster

Well, today is a sad day. Hammie the Hamster has passed on. He was looking rather ill late lastnight when Elizabeth took him out to play. So we cleaned out his cage real well, gave him fresh food, fresh water, and fresh bedding. I also fed him 1/2 a grape. He was looking better, but we could tell he wasn't feeling 100%. Tom and I discussed it and decided that since we couldn't call the vet lastnight I would call the vet this morning. He was alive his morning when Tom left at about 6, but when Elizabeth went to check on him later he wasn't. :(

Elizabeth is very upset since he was her pet. I read a lot of information online about the care of hamsters and will take more care with the next one we get (if we get one LATER). I didn't realize they could get a common cold and if so it is deadly to them. There is no treatment unless you take them to the vet. No over the counter or pet store remidies. Live and learn. I think we are all a little upset, but at least he isn't sick anymore.

I told Elizabeth he is playing with Katie's (a friend) hamster (also died). We are holding family visitation and a brief funeral service this evening if anyone would like to attend. Any prayers sent this way will be appreciated.

Cleaning

I have discovered the secret to this bloggin thing. I thought I had to wait for something important to happen or some revelation to share before I could post something...boy was I wrong! I can write about anything I want! Anything! So you guys want to know what I am thinking about today? Cleaning...yep...cleaning. How much I hate it. How much I wish I didn't have to do it. How much I wish there was some way I could afford to pay someone else to do it.

I keep thinking of an episode of Clean House I saw a few weeks ago where one of the houses they cleaned a lady said her house looked like that cause she didn't like cleaning and the reply was "Who does like to clean?". It still has to be done.

I like to watch Clean House and the BBC show How Clean Is Your House? because it always makes me feel good. I mean, my house has never been that bad! Yeah me! Still, sometimes I look around and just get depressed. I like it clean and I know I feel better when it is clean, but I get so aggrevated when I walk through the livingroom and someone has thrown their clothes in the floor. They don't even go to the bathroom unless I am standing right there when they start to undress and make them go!!!

Last...some pictures of the house we finally bought last year since I haven't posted them yet for some reason? I guess I have fuzzy brain syndrome because I just figured out how to crop and resize these!!! Slight oversight I am correcting...please forgive me. See the pretty blue skies? We miss them too right now!

Note, the nice green WEEDS?!?! They are nice and dead now! Our yard is mud! I can't wait to plant some nice grass!!! When we bought the house they were a bit taller than this. This is the picture I pulled off the appraisel. Trust me...they have been mowed!

I was watching Drew and Amanda's baby (Audrey); her and Colton got really dirty eatting dinner so a bath was in order! They were too cute so, of course, I had to take pictures!

Vanilla Coke Update...

I know you all feel the importance of this post. I had to let everyone know that I think they have brought Vanilla Coke back! I have found it at our gas station up the street now too! I am soooo excited! Now I don't have to make my own :( I don't know if I will survive now!!! That special blend has gotten me through many a fun evenings! :D

I am beginning to think something is wrong with me. Do I smell? Bother people? Get on their nerves?

We found out Thursday night that some more of our friends are moving back out of state. First, Drew and Amanda. Now, Rob and Valorie. Granted, they moved here last year and they are going back because Rob got a good job there. Still...what am I supposed to do now? I won't be able to walk across the street to visit if I get bored. I won't be able to let the kids run over and play for a bit when they are driving me nuts. Everyone is moving! Geez.

When we moved, I wasn't sure if I would have any neighbors I got along with and then I met Valorie. I thanked God that I had a friend so close. And they are so easy to get along with. It's been nice to be able to hang out with someone. Go into town and have lunch. Enjoy shopping. All the things I didn't do before.

I will probably never finish my scrapbooks once they move! Well, crap...I don't know what we will do. There aren't many people in our town (as you can see by the population sign Valorie took a picture of). Who will be my friend now ?!?!? Everyone else I know either works or lives too far away. *sigh*

Been Busy!

Hey everyone! Sorry it's been awhile! I have just been busy. As it is Melanie is sitting next to me wanting me to hurry so we can go to the store! I have been learning new things! I am going to show you some pictures I have learned how to enhance!

Of course everything else is the same...slugging away everyday to get the kids raised and the bills paid! I am still reading. I don't get in as much time as I would like, but I sure am trying!

Well, today has been fun to say the least. It's a good thing I have some really cute kids or I think I would go a little crazy everyday from being at home with them! Today, I am watching my cute little 5 month old cousin. It's a good thing I have a walker left for him to sit and play in, but I noticed Colton playing in it everytime I took little Mason out! Sooo, of course I HAD to take a few pictures!

And just to add to the picture he will be 2 on July 6th! He weighs in at about 33 lbs. I don't know how much longer this walker will hold up!

As most everyone knows Tom and I got to go back to Las Vegas this past week. We had a blast! We took a plane out to the West side of the Grand Canyon. Once there we took a helicopter ride down into the grand canyon and then hopped on a boat and went down the Colorado River!

We went to the top of the Effiel Tower and rode the gondalas at the Venetian! I am posting some pictures...by Friday we were ready to come home though. We kinda missed the kids :) Only a little though!

I was surfing the internet and come across a site that got me thinking of all the "mean/funny" stuff we do/tell our kids. I am notorius for being sarcastic and my kids are included! My top 3:

1. I once convinced Elizabeth that her real name was Charlie and that we only called her Elizabeth because we didn't want the other kids at school to make fun of her! I had her completely convinced for about 2 months before she finally asked Tom "Daddy, if my name is really Charlie, why do you call me Elizabeth?" He was like "What?" And I just died laughing.

2. If I don't want to eat at Burger King, McDonald's, etc. I tell the kids that they are closed for the day because it's the owner's birthday. The reason there are cars are in the parking lot is because those are the people who are there for the party.

3. We have fairies. Yes, you read it right, FAIRIES. What kind of fairies you ask? Well, we have all kinds of fairies here. There is a shoe fairy, a toy fairy, a balloon fairy, a tooth fairy, and a clothes fairy! What do these fairies do? THESE fairies come at night while the kids are asleep and cart off the broken toys, clothes/shoes that don't fit, and...well...you get the idea :)

Elizabeth's New Glasses!

Well, we had to break down and get E some glasses! She has been complaining for awhile now that she couldn't see the board! Now I wonder what excuse she is going to use for not getting her work done in class! She wanted some that looked like mine and so these are the one's we settled on. They are a dark purple which you can't really tell. I think they look cute...we will see how long it takes for her to break them!
