After the last post tonight, I decided I needed to add what I am thankful for:
1) My faith
2) God
3) My family
I know there are many more things to be thankful for...such as, the way Colton cuddles with me when I get him up each morning. The way they run to the door to give me hugs and kisses when I get home. The smiles I get from Tommy when he gets home. The 3 listed above are just the main 3 that keep me going each day. With our bills pressing down this time of year, and the work not coming in I really have to step back and take stock. Christmas will be tight, but it is a time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas...the birth of Jesus Christ.
Thankful...

This is the second time I have heard about this book/movie. I think you would be very interested to read about it. It is very disturbing and usually I don't pass things along. I feel too strongly to let this one pass up. I think it's gone too far. Here is the information I got on this book/movie...

Regarding The Golden Compass
THIS IS A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM DR. BRYAN CUTSHALL
Yesterday, I was handed a children's book by a staff member who said, "I think you need to see this." The book is published by Scholastic and is part of a collection of books. The book I was given is called The Golden Compass. This children's book is one of the most alarming things I have ever read. What makes it worse is that a movie based on the book premieres in December. Both the book and the movie introduce atheism to children. The story ends with Adam and Eve killing God.
THIS IS A MOVIE THAT WE MUST PROTEST AND OPPOSE AS CHRISTIANS. Please educate yourself on this by checking out the links I have provided below and help me spread the word. Do not remain silent on this issue. This is a time for the family of GOD to stand together.

You can also read more about it below.
I checked this out at snopes.com; unfortunately, it's true... There will be a new children's movie out in December called "The Golden Compass." The movie has been described as "atheism for kids" and is based on the first book of a trilogy entitled "His Dark Materials" written by Phillip Pullman. Pullman is a militant atheist and secular humanist who despises C. S. Lewis and the "Chronicles of Narnia." His motivation for writing this trilogy was specifically to counteract Lewis' symbolisms of Christ portrayed in the Narnia series.
Clearly, Pullman's main objective is to bash Christianity and promote atheism. Pullman left little doubt about his intentions when he said in a 2003 interview, "my books are about killing God." He has even stated that he wants "to kill God in the minds of children." It has been said of Pullman that he is "the writer the atheists would be praying for, if atheists prayed."
While "The Golden Compass" movie itself may seem mild and innocent, the books are a much different story. In the trilogy, a young streetwise girl becomes enmeshed in an epic struggle to ultimately defeat the oppressive forces of a senile God. Another character, an ex-nun, describes Christianity as "a very powerful and convincing mistake." In the final book, characters representing Adam and Eve eventually kill God, who at times is called YAHWEH. Each book in the trilogy gets progressively worse regarding Pullman's hatred of Jesus Christ.
"The Golden Compass" is set to premier December 7, during the Christmas season and will probably be heavily advertised. Promoters hope that unsuspecting parents will take their children to see the movie, that they will enjoy the movie, and that the children will want the books for Christmas. Please boycott the movie and the books. Also, pass this information along to everyone you know. This will help to educate parents, so that they will know the agenda of the movie.
The Golden Compass: A movie to avoid
We need to get the word out about this movie - it is coming out in December - an atheist produced it,it is marke ted for children and in the end they kill God. Send this to everyone you
know. http://snopes.com/politics/religion/compass.asp

Hello everyone! I hope your Thanksgiving was everything you had hoped for. The gathering of family and friends. The good food and conversation. I don't know if anyone ever reads my blog, but I will keep plugging away. It keeps me busy...for the most part when I should probably be washing clothes or picking up toys!
After reading Brenda's blog (for those of you who don't know her: http://endoux.blogspot.com/), I have decided she is on to something. I have been really down lately and although I KNOW I am blessed it is hard to remember on a daily basis when everything seems to go wrong. Kodoos to Brenda. I don't know if she realizes it, but there are a lot of people out here who check her blog frequently for updates. I have realized that I need to take a page, or blog in this case, from her and count my blessings. I know she has a specific goal, but I don't. I think just thinking about what I have to be thankful for everyday will help me tremendously. Instead of staying stressed and upset I need to remind myself that God is taking care of me and my family and that it will all work out to his will. I have to remain patient and leave my worries with Him. He knows what we need and has always made sure we are taken care of.
So instead of worring, I am going think about the positive things I have already been given and leave the rest up to Him. Maybe I can start with 5 a day and see how that goes? Who knows...maybe someone is reading my blog and it will help them too.
