First of all, the table in question resides at Mima's house. It's nice, unassuming. It looks safe enough, just like the on pictured here:
Not really square, no sharp edges, but still dangerous. Lastnight, my mom and I ended up in the ER with our 3 year old Wyatt for four hours because he tripped and fell, hitting his head on the edge. Now you might think he was running around and fell. No. He had just finished helping Dad shut the front door when he turned around to walk to the kitchen with Dad. The table wasn't but 5 feet from the front door. Anyone who knows my kids, knows they are accident prone as it is! (Anyone who knows our family has seen this coffee table!)
I have posted before and after pictures for everyone (like me) who want to see the damage that was actually done. They said he cut it all the way to his skull. They could see and feel it while cleaning the wound. They put three stitches on the inside to pull it together while it heals and 12 stitches on the outside. They aren't pretty pictures, but I don't really like coffee tables anyway. They are always hurting shins and toes!

After: The lighting wasn't great, sorry!
This was not a fun experience! We won't be buying a coffee table for a long, long time!!!
